At Shropshire Hardwoods we produce custom-made joinery and garden-ware as well as maintaining our own drying kiln.
All aspects of timber joinery and construction are undertaken, we source, mill and dry your timber in our own facility. Doors, windows, staircases, kitchens, bathrooms. Floorboards and timber frames for buildings.
We sensitively source locally grown timber which we convert and kiln dry. The main timbers are oak, ask, alder, sycamore, cedar and larch. We can also supply holly, London plane, walnut, cherry and chocolate oak.
Most of our timber comes from the Shropshire Hills (AONB) and the National Trust and from managed woodlands.
We can prepare from round logs, large quantities of ash, milled and dried to your project requirements or for use by your own joiner. We do need a project lead-in time for this service.
We are also able to supply larch raised-bed kits to order for your garden.
We provide all grades of timber from furniture and joinery grade through flooring, construction and gardening. At the end of this grade we are also able to produce a small amount of firewood grade!
Woodland to Wainhouse Project (image on right)
This building was designed to be constructed from oak thinnings and lower grade beam oak, from a single woodland. The woodland is now healthier due to this process, making the wainhouse a by-product of proper woodland management.
